NAI staff has performed Ongoing Food Security Act wetland determinations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in North Carolina and South Carolina.

NAI has been conducting wetland determinations in compliance with the Food Security Act (FSA) for the USDA NRCS in the Carolinas since 2016. In total, NAI has conducted determinations on over 6,000 acres of agricultural land throughout North Carolina and 13,000 acres in South Carolina. All FSA wetland determinations were conducted in accordance with National Food Security Act Manual Part 514.8 Exhibit A (NFSAM, 2010), adopted sections of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wetland Delineation Manual (USACE, 1987), and the Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain Region Version 2.0 (Regional Supplement) (USACE, 2010). Over the course of the contract period that NAI has been providing these services to the NRCS, the timeliness of our execution has been sustained through extenuating circumstances that have included COVID pandemic restrictions and Hurricane Matthew in 2016. NAI continues to provide these services on an on-call basis to the North Carolina and South Carolina NRCS.
