NAI staff led natural resource assessments, aquatic resource delineations, and threatened and endangered plant species surveys at numerous electrical transmission line corridors and substation sites through Georgia.
Nutter & Associates is contracted by the Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) for project specific natural resource assessments, aquatic resource delineations, and threatened and endangered (T&E) plant species survey services on electrical transmission line corridors and substation sites throughout Georgia for the purpose of construction planning and avoidance and minimization of impacts to important ecological resources, as well as meeting U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service (USDA RUS) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements.
Natural resource assessments and aquatic resource delineations include office Geographical Information System (GIS) reviews and field assessments of jurisdictional wetlands and streams as well as federal and state listed T&E species with known presence near the transmission corridors or substation sites. Upon completion of field surveys, an Ecological Survey Report detailing all ecological resources and agency permitting considerations is delivered to the client for submission to the USDA RUS. A GIS geodatabase of mapped features detailing all natural habitats, presence of rare and T&E species, and delineated aquatic resources within the study corridor is also provided to GTC.
