Location: Regional Southeastern US

Nutter & Associates, Inc. (NAI) provided mapping services to the US Food and Drug Administration using Geographic Information System (GIS) software.

NAI provided GIS and mapping services to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as part of the Applied One Health Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring program. The selection of surface water quality sampling sites across 10 US states was performed utilizing a hot spot analysis model based on recently acquired remote sensing land coverage data. By targeting sampling locations based on the statistically relevant contributing watersheds and feasible site access, monitoring efforts will ultimately assist the overall project goals of developing an FDA validated protocol for detection of antimicrobial resistance in waters used for food and agriculture. NAI identified over 300 individual sampling locations and will provide ongoing web mapping access throughout the program sampling period.
